3G Broadband in Malaysia

It’s has been long time since i updated this blog. Sorry for those waiting for new post at here. It’s quite a busy time for me and i just got new 3G broadband internet connection. I’m using Streamyx at my house at Terengganu. Now, i’m using Celcom Broadband that’s can make me can use internet anywhere and anytime.

I’m using only RM68 package which is the speed only 384Kbs. What you need is 3G modem either USB or PCMCIA card. My laptop using express card slot, so i can’t use pcmcia card. So i’m using USB 3G modem. Maybe some of you familiar with it. I’m using AT&T AirCard 875U. It’s was unlock version from AT&T, so i can use for any telco in Malaysia. It’s look like a hand phone to me.

It’s quite okay for blogging. As long you got internet connection, you can blog. There other provider such as Maxis also provide the same 3G connection but it’s using big modem that not suit for traveler. They also provide Huawei modem for traveler but some people said it’s receiver quite poor rather that modem by SIERRA.

This is Communication Manager. You can sent SMS for free using messaging tool there. Get connected anytim, anywhere. It will change to EDGE or GPRS if there are no 3G signal at your area.

    Why you asking GPRS speed? It’s depends on area you use the 3G,sometimes it’s quite fast..sometime slow

    Jaz,you can get it low yatt plaza.but it’s price still a little bit high..but i’m prefer to buy tech product at lelong.com.my

    hi… i m using Celcome 3G with AT&T card.. my connection shown 3g but the speed always lingering max at 50k.. very frustrated with this.. any thing i can do to confirm is this a network issue or my hardware issue?

    Will, my speed connection it’s quite okay, it’s depends places you access the internet.. there are no problem at KL

    There are many few 3G card available at low yat.

    You can find it at 3-IT-8BA-3rd Floor. They are selling USB 3.5G card.

    i am malaysian but working in saudi now.. and i wanna know… and i am using bandluxe 7.2 Mbps hsdpa usb modem ( check out in http://www.bandrich.com)… and the receiver is very good…my question is… can i use this bandluxe usb modem in malaysia? anybody can tell me?
